Austin Habitat for Humanity breaks ground on largest project yet for affordable homes!
Last Friday, we were joined by Former Mayor Steve Adler, Current Mayor Kirk Watson, County Attorney Delia Garza, District 2 Councilmember Vanessa Fuentes, and Austin Habitat Board Chair Yvette Flores as we broke ground with our construction and design partners on our largest housing development yet – Persimmon Point.
This innovative project addresses the growing need for affordable homeownership in Southeast Austin. Persimmon Point will comprise of 126 homes, including flats and townhomes up to 1,300 square feet. We hope that this will be a shining example of how affordable housing can fit in any part of the city.
